Hospitality Design – August 2026

Hospitality Design – August 2026

Summary

Paint By Numbers from HBF Textiles with Liam Lee fronts hospitality design August 2026, photographed by Pippa Drummond, and Sag Harbor and Ann Sacks process pieces carry the product side.

The August 2026 issue runs a perspectives section from page 13: showroom project breakdown on 13, emerging designers interview on 21, a Sag Harbor spec sheet on 30, and process pieces on Ann Sacks with Studio McGee on 33, nanimarquina with Julie Richoz on 34 and Studio Baldo on 36. Products open on 41 with seven designer profiles from 42 to 47 and trends running black and white, bold patterns, butter yellow and nature inspired from 66 to 69.

Regulars stay trade-focused: from the editor on 008, behind the design on 010, ad index on 095 and back space on 096. For a hospitality specifier chasing textile and surface trends, the profiles and the trend pages are the reason to read.

Content Guide

▸ Perspectives / Process
p.013 · project breakdown showrooms
The perspectives opener breaks down showroom projects, naming the schemes and the products used. It addresses how a showroom is put together. Note one product from this breakdown for your next scheme.

p.030 · spec sheet faraway sag harbor
The spec sheet covers Sag Harbor, naming the products and the specification for the project. It works as a sourcing list. Copy one item from this spec sheet into your next FF&E schedule.

p.033 · process ann sacks + studio mcgee
The process piece runs Ann Sacks with Studio McGee, naming how the collaboration made the product. It covers the making rather than the marketing. Ask a rep how one piece named here was made.

▸ Products / Profiles
p.045 · profile liam lee
Liam Lee's profile sits behind the cover Paint By Numbers collaboration with HBF Textiles, photographed by Pippa Drummond. It names the work produced with the mill. Look up the HBF Textiles Paint By Numbers range by name.

p.042 · profile morghen studio
The profiles open with Morghen Studio, naming the practice and the products shown. Each profile is short and product-led. Search one Morghen Studio piece named here for a current project.

▸ Trends
p.066 · trends black + white
The trend pages run four directions, starting with black and white on 66 with bold patterns, butter yellow and nature inspired on 67 to 69. Each names the colours and the products carrying them. Test one butter yellow product on a hospitality scheme this season.

p.072 · fabrics + textiles
The textiles page gathers fabric and textile products, naming the mills and the ranges. It covers the material side of the issue. Request one memo sample from a mill named here.

p.076 · lighting
The lighting page collects lighting products, naming the fittings and the makers. It addresses specification for hospitality spaces. Specify one fitting named here on a current lighting plan.

Editor's Take

The strongest pages are the process pieces — Ann Sacks with Studio McGee on 33 and nanimarquina with Julie Richoz on 34 show how a product gets made, which beats a plain product shot. The Sag Harbor spec sheet on 30 is directly usable for a specifier. The weakness is the back half: the trend block from 66 to 69 and the long run of product categories from 72 to 90 are essentially a sourcing directory with photo after photo, and the ad index on 095 confirms how much of the book is paid for. It suits a hospitality designer specifying textiles and lighting, not someone wanting design criticism.

Strengths
• Process pieces show how products are made
• Sag Harbor spec sheet is usable
• Cover names the mill and photographer
• Trends cover four clear directions

Weaknesses
• Product pages run as a photo directory
• Heavy advertising, confirmed by ad index

Verdict: Selective read — process and spec pages earn it, the product directory is filler.
