Tatler Hong Kong – October 2025

Summary
Roger Federer, photographed by Issac Lam in a Rolex Land-Dweller, opens Tatler Hong Kong October 2025 with a 40-page "Best of Switzerland" dossier that is the most Federer-dense of all the October 2025 regional editions—his face appears on 12 separate editorial and cover pages. The 176-page issue also carries a Bitcoin Asia Conference report and the Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow 10th anniversary.

Federer's feature ("A Man and His Mountains," p.128) is identical in structure to the Philippine and Malaysia editions but with different quotes—the Hong Kong edition includes a section on his visits to Hong Kong for the Laver Cup and his relationship with local fans. The "Best of Switzerland" section (p.128-170) covers 15 features from alpine resorts to the Lucerne music festival, plus a Swiss-style fashion spread (p.64) and a dedicated watch section (p.82) featuring 8 Swiss brands. The Bitcoin Asia Conference ("Bullish for Bitcoin," p.20) reports from the HKCEC where 3,000 attendees gathered and Bitcoin hit USD 85,000 during the keynote. The Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow 10th anniversary story (p.24) profiles 10 alumni from the past decade, including F&B entrepreneur Vicky Lau and M+ curator Silke Schmickl.

Regular departments include Editor's Note (p.13), Contributors (p.16), and One Last Thing (p.176). Style runs 44 pages with Subtle Intensity (p.80), Watches Picks with 8 Swiss brands, and Beauty Picks. Editor's Take
This is the strongest of the three October 2025 Federer issues because the Hong Kong edition added a local dimension—Federer's Hong Kong tennis records, his Lung King Heen favourite, the On Running Queen's Road store—that neither the Philippines nor Malaysia edition attempted. The Bitcoin Asia 2025 report (p.20) is timely and practical, with the exchange-licensing sidebar adding genuine utility. The Swiss fashion spread (p.64) still suffers from the same problem as the other editions: it's styled as a Switzerland Tourism brochure. The 44-page Style section is 4 pages longer than the Swiss travel dossier, which is the wrong priority for a Swiss-themed issue.
Strengths
• Federer content Hong Kong-specific with local restaurant name and tennis record
• Bitcoin Asia report with licensed-exchange opening instructions
• On Running CEO with specific store count, market list and Queen's Road opening date
Weaknesses
• Swiss fashion spread reads as tourism-board advertorial—no critical or cultural framing
• Style section at 44 pages exceeds the Swiss travel section by 4 pages
Verdict: Recommended — The strongest Federer regional edition thanks to genuine Hong Kong localisation; the Style section is less relevant.
