Design Essentia – May-June 2026
Summary
An Ahmedabad residence fronts the May-June 2026 issue of Design Essentia, which pairs Indian architecture and interiors with features on materials, lighting and a products spread for regional specifiers.
Design Essentia's May-June 2026 issue leads with an Ahmedabad residence on the cover, then tours Indian architecture and interiors. Features cover how the house was designed and built, while a materials piece looks at surfaces in use across Indian projects. A lighting section covers schemes for homes and commercial spaces, and later features profile the architects and designers behind current work. The issue includes a products spread with supplier details, plus news of projects and awards across the region.
Regular departments keep the practical flow for architects and designers. A products section gathers furniture, surfaces and lighting, and a news spread covers industry movement. Practical pages include design guidance and specification advice, while the back pages gather a directory of suppliers and services for readers sourcing products in India.

Editor's Take
The Ahmedabad residence is the strongest feature in this May-June 2026 issue, giving a real Indian home with planning and material detail rather than a showpiece with no substance. The materials and lighting sections are practically useful for regional specifiers. The weakness is the back half, where the products spread and supplier directory take over and several pages read as promotion. The architect profiles are short and lack process detail. News pages are routine. Best for Indian architects and interior designers sourcing materials and lighting; international readers will find the supplier detail hard to use.
Strengths
• Ahmedabad residence with real planning and material detail
• Materials section covers surfaces in Indian projects
• Lighting schemes for homes and commercial spaces
• Directory serves India-based specifiers directly
Weaknesses
• Products and supplier pages dominate the back half
• Architect profiles are short and light on process
Verdict: Recommended — The Ahmedabad house and materials coverage carry a useful regional issue.
